According to the state-run Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the country’s Council of Ministers confirmed the holiday for those working in the public sector. Kuwait’s long weekend The Cabinet declared September 28 as a holiday for those serving in the public sector. This sets up a three-day weekend for those working in the public sector as the holiday falls on a Thursday. For those who have a five-day work week, the weekends are marked on a Friday and Saturday which sets up a three-day long weekend at the end of this month. UAE: 3-day long weekend As is customary, the official declaration of the public holiday is contingent upon the announcement from UAE government officials. Typically, this announcement occurs about a week before the holiday itself.
