Citing unnamed sources, Al Anba Daily said dates had been confirmed for the occasions of Isra and Mi’raj, National Day and Liberation Day as February 25 and February 26, respectively. As Kuwait observes a Friday-Saturday weekend, the National Day celebration will give the workforce a four-day break come February. The long weekend in February is apart from the four-day break for the New Year. Kuwait’s New Year break The country’s cabinet declared Sunday, December 31, 2023, and Monday, January 1, 2024, as public holidays, at a weekly meeting held on November 20. With the country enjoying its weekend on Thursday and Friday, residents will get an additional two days off. The state-run news agency KUNA stated government bodies with a “special work nature” will have their holidays determined by their own internal management, taking into consideration the “public interest”.
