The publication said the new workers would increase the total of Kuwaiti staff in the oil sector to 4,000 in the current and next fiscal years, citing quotes from an interview of Water Essam Al-Marzouq, minister of oil and electricity and water, by Al-Anba newspaper yesterday. The new hires come despite a three-day strike by oil workers last year due to proposed cuts to salaries and benefits.
