Home Industry Landmark Group signs deal with Abu Dhabi’s Reem Mall for 23 stores Landmark will occupy a total retail area close to 200,000 square feet within the mall by Aarti Nagraj August 25, 2016 UAE retail conglomerate Landmark Group has signed an agreement with Abu Dhabi’s upcoming Reem Mall for 23 new stores. As part of the agreement, Landmark will bring its own brands such as Centrepoint, Home Centre, Max, Iconic, Sports One and Shoexpress to the two million square feet mall. The group’s franchise brands such as New Look, Reiss, Adidas Kids, Ecco, Koton, Yours London, Lipsy, Steve Madden, Carpisa, Nose, Pablosky, Aerosoles, Kurt Geiger, Stride Rite, Puket, Blocco 31, Kazar and Loriblu will also open at Reem Mall. In total, Landmark Group will occupy a total retail area close to 200,000 square feet within the mall. Manu Jeswani, director of Landmark Group, said: “Abu Dhabi’s impressive mall development offers great potential for retail growth. “Its vibrant shopping, arts and entertainment culture is a great attraction for both residents and tourists, and as the offering grows, it increases opportunity for the retail industry. “Landmark Group is strategically expanding its presence in Abu Dhabi and our partnership with Reem Mall will enable us to bring our offering even closer to our customers.” Located within Reem Island, the new mall will house 450 stores including 85 food and beverage outlets and edutainment and entertainment anchors. It will also house the world’s largest indoor snow-play park and a 125,000 sq ft indoor amusement space. Reem Mall is being developed by two Kuwaiti real estate companies – the National Real Estate Company and United Projects for Aviation Services Company. Construction began in 2015 and the mall is expected to open in 2018. The wider Al Reem Island project will have 11 new private schools, six kindergarten centres, a Paris Sorbonne University, three new private hospitals, a number of clinics, nine mosques, civil defence and police facilities, a major transit hub and nearly 500,000 square metres of park and open space when ready. It is projected to house a population of 210,000 in the future.
