PIB asserted that both patients were ‘stable’ and being closely monitored. The three earlier cases were recorded in the state of Kerala on the south-western coast of India. The total number of those infected in the country has risen to five. Since the outbreak, the Indian government had advised its citizens to refrain from travel to China. It also urged the public to avoid non-essential travel to Republic of Korea, Iran and Italy and Singapore.
