Lenovo sold more x86 servers in the UAE than any of its competitors in Q2 2020, the latest figures from IDC show.

Lenovo ranked top in the latest IDC Quarterly Server Tracker, Q2 2020, which showed the company leading in the x86 server space with a 25.1 per cent market share by revenue. The company grew its share of x86 server revenue for the key UAE market from 17.4 per cent in the previous quarter, taking Lenovo from third place to first.

“The success of Lenovo servers in the UAE market is proof of how our customers are selecting Lenovo to be a key enabler of intelligent transformation,” said Dr. Chris Cooper, director and general manager, Lenovo Data Centre Group MEA. “Our strong product offering, including partnerships with other technology leaders such as VMware, Microsoft and Nutanix, and our strong support for customers and partners are an important factor in allowing Lenovo to gain market leadership,” he added.

Cooper attributed the achievement to the “dedication and effort put in by the Lenovo DCG team in leading and supporting customers in their digital transformation journey across the region.”

“It is very clear that the Data Centre Group’s market relevance is growing, with the group continuing to earn customer and partner trust in the process of pioneering data centre innovations in the market,” Cooper said.
