Lulu Group expands retail footprint Lulu Group has been on an aggressive expansion drive, not only within the Gulf region but also in India and other markets. The agreement to establish the Lulu Hypermarket at Dubai Mall was signed in 2022 by Jamal Bin Thaniah, Chairman of Emaar Properties (the owner of Dubai Mall), and Yusuff Ali MA, Chairman and Managing Director of Lulu Group International. This marked a significant milestone in their collaboration. In September, the retail giant expanded by opening its 10th hypermarket in Bahrain and 15th in Kuwait. Additionally, it announced a massive expansion plan in India, with investments amounting to billions of dirhams. Lulu Group has also enhanced its global sourcing operations, establishing new centers in Italy and Poland. These centers primarily focus on adding a variety of products, particularly in the healthy and dietary categories. As the population in the UAE continues to grow, retail spending is also witnessing a significant increase. Commenting on the expansion, Yusuff Ali MA stated, “It is our constant endeavor to innovate and offer a world-class shopping experience to the large multi-national population residing and visiting Dubai. There has been growing demand for internationally sourced products, and it will be our continuous commitment to offer high-quality products at the most affordable prices in the market.” Lulu Group’s commitment to providing quality products at competitive prices positions it as a prominent player in the retail landscape, serving the diverse needs of customers in the UAE and beyond.
