St. Regis Hotels and Resorts has opened its first property in Morocco. The St. Regis La Bahia Blanca Resort, Tamuda Bay was developed by Eagle Hills, an Abu Dhabi-based private investment and real estate development company.

Located at Tamuda Bay, on the Mediterranean coast, the resort which is a part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio, features 83 guestrooms and 17 suites, all with a private balcony facing the sea. The resort also has a 1,800 sq ft Presidential suite.

Leisure amenities here include the Exercise Room and The St. Regis Spa which has five treatment rooms, including one suite for couples.

F&B options here are Baie Blanche Brasserie, a contemporary French brasserie with Moroccan influences and a seafood menu. The Bahia Vista Beach Bar & Grill, is a beachside grill while the St. Regis Bar, inspired by the King Cole Bar at The St. Regis New York can also be found here. The Library serves the signature St. Regis Afternoon Tea.

Meeting facilities at the resort comprise more than 5,000 sqft of event spaces and a private patio. The Astor Ballroom, with its exterior garden overlooking the sea, can host receptions for up to 280 guests.

“The debut of The St. Regis La Bahia Blanca Resort, Tamuda Bay marks a significant milestone for the St. Regis brand as we grow our footprint on the African continent and celebrate our first property in Morocco,” said Helen Leighton, vice president Luxury Brands, Europe, Middle East and Africa at Marriott International. “Set to become the most iconic address in Morocco, The St. Regis La Bahia Blanca, Tamuda Bay will showcase a new level of luxury hospitality.”

The property added that, following the recent earthquake in Morocco, it has committed itself to working with the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (ANAPEC) to train young people coming from the affected areas by offering them employment opportunities at the hotel.
