All the residents from the 328 apartments were evacuated and 12 people, who were injured, were treated on site, officials said. Vehicles parked below the building were also damaged in the accident. Police said since all the residents were evacuated before the fire spread, serious injuries were avoided. They were also able to contain the fire from not spreading to the neighbouring buildings. Relevant authorities are ensuring that alternative accommodation is provided for the residents, the statement added.
