Home Industry Technology Maya Zakhour takes on new role as NetApp channel director for MEA, Italy and Spain NetApp keen to expand footprint in booming cloud market by David Ndichu August 4, 2020 Storage and cloud services vendor NetApp is expanding the role of Maya Zakhour, its channel director for Middle East and Africa, to include Italy and Spain. Zakhour will report to Kristian Kerr, VP for Partner Organisation. Zakhour has extensive experience in the region’s IT market. She joined NetApp as head of Channel, Distribution and Alliances, Middle East and Africa (MEA) in August 2017. Prior to joining NetApp, she was channel director for the Middle East at Fortinet, strategic alliance manager at Dimension Data as well as channel development manager and partner account manager for UAE at Microsoft. Zakhour is tasked with driving partners to promote NetApp’s cloud offering along with managing the company’s public cloud alliances across MEA, Italy and Spain. “I am excited to take on this new role at a time when the adoption of cloud services is rapidly growing across the MEA region. My focus is to strategically grow NetApp’s channel business across all territories, while ensuring profitability for partners, especially in this time of crisis,” said Zakhour. NetApp, whose legacy lies in data storage, has been evolving into a cloud-based vendor. “NetApp’s alliances with global hyperscalers Microsoft, Google and Amazon Web Services coupled with the recent acquisitions of CloudJumper, Talon Storage, and Spot, strengthens our overall cloud offering and allows our customer to unlock the potential of the cloud and get more out of their cloud investments,” Zakhour added.
