The expansion will see 3.3 kilometres of slide sections added to the themed waterpark. The project is expected to grow guest capacity by 20 per cent with the addition of 18 new rides and attractions, bringing the number of total rides in the park to 60. This ride features a 15-metre-high drop for up to 20 guests and water park fans. Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, group CEO commented: “This expansion marks another addition to our world-class attractions and experiences on Yas Island, and a testament to achieving our vision of positioning it as a top global destination for entertainment and leisure.” Read our interview with Al Zaabi on how Miral is transforming Abu Dhabi with its grand vision The expansion will complement the park’s present architectural style, and construction is expected to be completed in 2025. Here’s what visitors can expect at Yasworld with the expansion Yas Waterworld will add a new experience called the ‘Lost City’, complete with hidden treasures and secret passages. Once open, the park will also feature the country’s highest slide, and the GCC’s first amusement ride in a water park and integrated within a waterslide complex. A swim-up bar, boat ride, tube slides, raft rides, and a master blaster are all part of the new additions. The expansion will also provide smaller-scaled versions of Yas Waterworld’s best rides such as a mini-Dawwama, which will be the region’s only kids’ mini blaster fusion ride with two blaster sections and a rattler end section, and a mini-Boomerango to provide kids with thrills.
