Mo Salah to move to Al-Ittihad: Reports say Liverpool star considering offer

If reports in the British media are to be believed, Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah could be considering saying ‘yes’ to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad.

Al-Ittihad has reportedly offered the Egyptian footballer a five-year contract valued at approximately GBP100m per season, complemented by a private jet or unrestricted airfare for his family.

This massive offer also includes an opportunity for him to serve as a tourism and investment ambassador for Saudi Arabia. Additionally, discussions have arisen regarding Salah’s potential future ownership stake in a team, drawing parallels to English skipper David Beckham’s move to the MLS in 2007.

This increased offer seems to have captured Salah’s interest, prompting him to re-consider his stay Liverpool, according to a report by transfer journalist Rudi Galetti. Nonetheless, the ultimate verdict rests with the Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool has reportedly received an offer exceeding GBP79m for their star player, reported The Sun.

Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Salah has amassed an impressive record of 187 goals and 80 assists. Following Liverpool’s match against Newcastle on Sunday, it is reported that Salah will complete his medical assessment for Al-Ittihad, according to a Saudi-owned broadcaster.

Should Salah agree to Al-Ittihad’s offer, he would be among the highest-paid players in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Pro League has already attracted several top stars from Europe this season including Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Neymar, Jordan Henderson, and Fabinho.

Despite the offer from the SPL club, Liverpool says it is steadfast in their determination to retain Salah, a sentiment reaffirmed by his agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, earlier this month.

Nonetheless, fresh speculations have emerged subsequent to the agent’s statement even as the transfer window in the English Premier League closes Friday.

There are indications that Salah is contemplating a transition to Al-Ittihad, and a verdict is anticipated by Monday regarding his potential departure from Merseyside.
