Home Industry Food Nestlé appoints new chairman and CEO for MENA region Remy Ejel, who has been with the company for over 20 years, has been appointed to the role by Aarti Nagraj September 29, 2020 Global food conglomerate Nestlé has appointed Remy Ejel as chairman and CEO for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, effective September 1, it announced on Monday. The role was earlier held by Yves Manghardt for roughly 10 years. Having joined Nestlé in Saudi Arabia in 1998, Ejel has held various positions in different markets. Most recently, he was serving as the chairman and CEO of the central west Africa region, which covers 25 countries, prior to which he worked as the chairman and CEO for the southern Africa region. Nestlé MENA currently operates 25 factories across the region, and achieved annual sales of close to $3bn in 2019. It employs more than 15,000 people in 19 countries across the region. Its portfolio in the region currently includes 60 product segments across dairy, infant nutrition, coffee and creamers, confectionery, bottled water, breakfast cereals and pet care, among others. Some of its brands include KitKat, Mackintosh’s Quality Street, Nido, Nesquik, Nescafe, Nespresso, Cerelac, ice cream brand Dreyer’s and noodle brand Maggi.
