New drive-through Covid-19 screening and vaccination centre opens in Al Ain

Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS), a SEHA healthcare facility, has announced the opening of a new drive-through Covid-19 screening and vaccination center in Al Sarouj area in Al Ain, within the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The new center comprises of six tracks: two for vaccinations, and four for PCR nose swab and DPI laser-based testing.

It has a capacity to administer 200 vaccinations and undertake 800 nose swabs and laser tests per day.

UAE nationals and residents who wish to receive the vaccine or undergo a Covid-19 screening can book an appointment through SEHA’s app.

It will be open from Saturday to Thursday from 10am-4pm and from 8pm-1am during Ramadan. Post Ramadan, its operating hours will change from 8am-8pm from Saturday-Thursday.

“The center boasts a new design utilising shipping containers, which are more durable and adaptable, and provide a very high level of heat and cold resistance. They are also easier to move, reuse, and maintain,” said Mohamed Hawas Al Sadid, CEO of AHS.

It brings the total number of drive-through screening and vaccination centers managed by AHS in Al Ain to 3 including Al Hili, Asharej, and the latest opening in Al Sarouj.

Meanwhile, the AHS has also announced the closure of the SEHA drive-through screening center in Al Masoudi effective Friday May 30, 2021.

The total number of Covid-19 cases detected in the country as of May 1, stands at 521,948, including 1,712 cases reported on Saturday.

The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention said on Saturday that 62,366 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were administered over the past 24 hours. The total number of doses dispensed stands at 10,609,950, with vaccine distribution rate of 107.28 doses per 100 people.
