Oil Flow At Iraq’s Kirkuk-Ceyhan Pipeline Resumes

Pumping of crude oil through Iraq’s Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline has resumed to an average of around 400,000 to 450,000 barrels per day after a technical problem a day earlier, two sources at the state North Oil Company said on Sunday.

Earlier, officials said oil flow along the pipeline from Kirkuk’s northern oilfields to Turkey had been stopped due to maintenance on the pipeline after a technical failure on the Iraqi side since Saturday night.

No details were available about the nature of the technical problem.

Oil flow was halted on December 8 and resumed on December 11 for the same reason without any impact on exports, the sources said. Exports were not affected thanks to reserves stored in Ceyhan, the sources added.
