Flight WY123, which departed from the Omani capital at 2.30pm on March 4, was diverted to Sofia, in Bulgaria. The A330 aircraft was diverted “due to the smell of smoke coming from the inflight entertainment system,” the airline said on Twitter. “Engineers are currently working to fix this issue. “Oman Air places the highest importance on the safety of our passengers and crew,” it added. Meanwhile, the airline also said on Saturday that passengers on its flight from Muscat to Delhi were hit by air turbulence.
