Oman’s health ministry has signed nine agreements worth RO1.52 million ($3.9 million) with Oman LNG to improve health services at hospitals, the official Oman News Agency reported.

Under the terms of the agreement, Oman LNG will buy advanced medical technologies and provide better infrastructure for seven medical units in Oman including Ja’alan Bani Bu Ali Hospital, the Royal Hospital, and the Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah, among others.

The company will mainly supply the hospitals with hi-tech equipment such as portable X-Ray machines, portable incubators and ultrasound & PACS imaging.

A major allotment has been made for the Khoula Hospital, the Sultanate’s main emergency and accidents hospital, where Oman LNG will invest RO570,000 ($1.48 million) to provide more beds and medical laboratories.

Oman LNG is owned 51 per cent by the government of the Sultanate.
