Home Industry Oman Secures New Subcontinent Traffic Rights Exclusive: Oman Air announces new flights into India and Pakistan. by Dominic Ellis December 17, 2012 The Sultanate of Oman has recently completed successful negotiations with India and Pakistan for more traffic rights. Oman Air’s Delhi and Chennai flights will both go to double daily in 2013 and Islamabad and Lahore will go to daily each. The airline also flies to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kozikhode, Lucknow, Thiruvananpuram and Karachi. Oman Air CEO Wayne Pearce said: “Adding frequencies tends to be our strategy going forward because as you get frequency it becomes a more consistent product and better proposition for the business traveller.” Pearc added that by the end of January it will announce codeshares with “at least” another three carriers. “We have a number that are in more preliminary stages of discussion.” He said its business class seat factors have grown 40 per cent this year and the airline has recorded 20 per cent overall growth.
