Home Transport Aviation Oman’s SalamAir begins flights to Bangladesh’s Dhaka SalamAir began operations last year by Robert Anderson July 30, 2018 Omani low cost carrier SalamAir has begun flights from Muscat to Bangladesh’s Dhaka. The new service, which began on Sunday, is the airline’s fourth to the Indian subcontinent, including flights to Karachi, Multan and Sialkot in Pakistan. It is designed to serve the 700,000 Bangladeshi workers in Oman and will operate four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. “We are responding to strong demand facilitated by the large volume of Bangladeshi travellers to Oman and other GCC countries,” said Oman Air CEO captain Mohamed Ahmed, who took on the role last September. Read: Oman’s SalamAir appoints new CEO “We will continue expanding our network and connect Oman with direct flights to key new destinations, offering our guests exciting travel possibilities with competitive market rates.” SalamAir began operations in January 2017 and currently flies to 13 destinations following the recent additions of Tbilisi, Baku and Dhaka. The airline confirmed earlier this month it would add six Airbus A30neo planes to its fleet by the first quarter of 2019 to expand its route network to potential locations including Khartoum, Egypt, Iraq and Kathmandu.
