Home UAE Dubai Palm Jumeirah Dubai’s Preferred Place To Live Emirates Hills comes joint top with the Palm in poll by local property portal. by Neil Churchill January 15, 2013 Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah and Emirates Hills have come joint top in a survey asking where the emirate’s residents would chose to live if money was not an issue. As part of a ‘Happiness Survey’ by propertyfinder.ae, the two exclusive postcodes top the list, with Jumeirah coming in second and Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) third. Renan Bourdeau, managing director at propertyfinder.ae, said: “It is of course interesting to see which areas are considered to be the most desirable by Dubai residents right now. “It will also be interesting to see how these rankings shift over the year as developments and extensions in different areas come to fruition. As new metro stations, new malls and new luxury facilities spring up across Dubai, the top three could totally change.” The original poll last year found that Jumeirah’s Umm Suqiem neighbourhood was the happiest place to live in Dubai. Dubai Marina came second while The Springs came third. Nikki Summers, managing director of Dubai’s Brix Property Partners, said: “I am not surprised at all about the fact that Emirates Hills – the Beverly Hills of Dubai – and the Palm Jumeirah top the list as these areas have always been considered the crème de la crème of the Dubai property market. “Jumeirah too has always been very popular with families due to its location and access to shops, schools, restaurants and the beach. Who wouldn’t want all of that on their doorstep?” Summers was surprised however that Jumeirah Beach Residence made it into the top three. “With all of the new construction taking place on the beachfront at JBR, many of the views will soon be compromised and a lot of people are looking to relocate because of this,” she said.
