EXCLUSIVE: Phil Broad Resigns From Jumeirah Restaurants

Phil Broad, the managing director of Jumeirah Restaurants, has resigned from his position, a source at the company has revealed to Gulf Business.

Broad, who has been with Jumeirah for four years, will now be joining the InterContinental Hotels Group.

“Phil Broad has resigned from his position and will leave the company in November 2012. We would like to thank him for all the hard work and commitment he has put into establishing and growing our Jumeirah Restaurants portfolio worldwide,” the company said in a statement.

Jumeriah Restaurants, the branded restaurant division arm of Dubai’s Jumeirah Group, operates several high-end eateries including The Noodle House, Urbano, Sana Bonta, AllFreshCo, Rice + Spice and The Flaming Revolution.

The company also has the regional rights to develop international restaurants and clubs from the Caprice Holdings group such as Rivington Grill, Scott’s, Annabel’s and The Ivy.

Broad was mainly tasked with the expansion of The Noodle House brand, both within the MENA region and across the world, particularly in the US, China, and mainland Europe markets.

Prior to joining Jumeirah Group, Broad was with Starbucks Coffee Company as managing director for the UK and Ireland. He has also been managing director of T.G.I Friday’s in the UK and worked at Tesco and Pizza Hut, where he was responsible for operations, business and concept development.

He also owned and operated the Outback Steakhouse restaurants in the UK from 2000 to 2006.
