Home Gallery Photos of the week: Abu Dhabi wins Special Olympics bid, John Kerry in Oman, US protests continue by Aarti Saundalkar November 17, 2016 The Special Olympics International board of directors announced it has chosen Abu Dhabi to host the 2019 World Summer Games on November 15, 2016. The unanimous decision was based on a comprehensive bid proposal, a site visit by a board committee, and the country’s vision to create inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities. The games will be held in March 2019 and will be the first time the games are hosted in the Middle East.
