Dubai-based developer Nakheel has opened the 360-key Avani Ibn Battuta hotel, marking its second hotel at the mall.

Located less than a minute’s walk from Ibn Battuta mall and its 400 outlets, the new-build, 18-storey Avani hotel includes 15 suites, a pool deck with dining and recreational facilities, an all-day dining restaurant called Flavours Kitchen & Lounge and a coffee shop.

It also features a gym, meeting facilities and parking for 128 vehicles.

The hotel, which is also accessible via the Dubai Metro, is situated close to corporate business hubs in JAFZA and the Dubai Expo 2020 site.

Nakheel chairman, Ali Rashid Lootah, said: “With more than 21 million visitors a year, the Ibn Battuta Mall is a world-leading destination where quality accommodation is in demand, as is clear from the constantly-high occupancy rates of our first hotel here.”

Nakheel’s first hotel at Ibn Battuta Mall – a 372-room Premier Inn – opened in 2016.

“The arrival of this new hotel comes as Dubai’s busiest time of year gets into full swing, and we look forward to a successful winter season – and beyond – at Avani Ibn Battuta,” added Lootah.

The property marks the opening of the first new-build Avani in the Middle East region, according to Minor International, owner and operator of the brand.

“We are confident the property will be very well received in the Dubai market,” said William E. Heinecke, founder, chairman and group CEO of Thailand’s Minor International.

The hotel has an opening offer of Dhs390 per room per night, valid until December 25, 2019.
