Home Industry Retail Pictures: Dubai’s Emaar, Meraas announce new mall Dubai Hills Mall is the centre piece of the Dubai Hills Estate master project by Staff Writer August 20, 2017 Dubai developer Emaar Properties and holding company Meraas have announced plans for a new 11 million square metre mall at their Dubai Hills Estate community joint venture. Dubai Hills Mall, located on the intersection of Umm Suqeim Street and Al Khail Road, will have 750 retail and food and beverage outlets over a leasable area o 187,500 sqm. It will also feature four entertainment attractions including a cineplex, a 65,000 sqft hypermarket, seven anchor retail stores, dedicated parking for more than 7,000 vehicles and a link to the Dubai Metro once an expansion project is completed. “Dubai Hills Mall is an innovative concept that will redefine the shopping malls and retail sector of the city,” said Meraas group chairman HE Abdulla Al Habbai. “With the retail and trade sector contributing to about 30 per cent of Dubai’s GDP, it is important to ensure its sustained competitiveness through such lifestyle destinations that welcome visitors from around the world in addition to serving the local community.” The mall is expected to mainly serve established neighbourhoods in Mohammed bin Rashid City and the catchment areas of Arabian Ranches and other communities upon its scheduled opening in late 2019. It will be the centre piece of the Dubai Hills Estate master-planned community on the opposite side of Al Khail Road from the Al Quoz Industrial Area. When completed the site will be home to 23 million sqft of green space including a golf course and a 1.9million sqft central park.
