Home Transport Aviation Qatar Airways Launching Djibouti Flights Doha carrier looks to capitalise on Djibouti’s rising commercial profile by Dominic Ellis March 23, 2014 Qatar Airways will launch three-times weekly flights to Djibouti from July 27. Flights will depart Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from Doha at 0010 (QR1437) and arrive in Djibouti at 0255, and QR1438 returns at 0355 and arrives in Doha at 0700. Services will be operated on two-class A320s. With its strategic geographical location, bordered by Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia, Djibouti’s commercial outlook is growing – in line with its international military presence. Foreign troops from the US, France and other G8 countries, carry out a range of activities, ranging from training airport officials to conducting anti-piracy operations. The rapidly expanding airline will start flights to Philadelphia and Larnaca in April; Edinburgh and Istanbul Sabiha in May; Miami and Tokyo Haneda in June and Dallas/Fort Worth in July. 0 Comments
