Home Transport Aviation Qatar Airways Unveils A380 First Class The jumbo jet will feature eight seats/beds in first class, and customers will have access to an exclusive lounge on board. by Aarti Nagraj March 5, 2014 Qatar Airways unveiled the first class cabin of its Airbus A380 jumbo jet at the ITB trade fair in Berlin on Wednesday. The cabin will contain eight seats/beds, the widest and largest in the air once the aircraft is launched, Business Traveller reported. The IFE screen, at 26 inches, will also be the largest currently on offer. First class passengers will have access to an exclusive lounge on board, and the new cabin will also offer a “dining for two” option in which passengers can sit opposite one another. The Gulf carrier claimed passengers will be able to sit in this position even during take-off. During the ITB event, Qatar Airways also highlighted the opening of the delayed Hamad International Airport in Doha this year. Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways said: “The opening of the new airport will represent the culmination of our expansion strategy for 2014. It is the first airport in the world that offers full flight operation of all commercial aircraft, including the Airbus A380, the largest passenger aircraft in the world. “With it, we will continue to strengthen Doha’s position as an important global hub.” (Pictures courtesy: Business Traveller) 0 Comments
