Majlis of the World is back at Global Village and will enable guests to enjoy Ramadan traditions in a unique setting. Guests can order Iftar, Suhoor or other delicacies from any of the more than 250 dining options around the park. A mix of Ramadan-themed performances will include oud, qanun, harp and cello players, a traditional Tannoura dancer, and a magician to entertain guests visiting the majlis. Families and friends can also rent board and card games. Bookings can be made online through the website or app starting from March 20. Ramadan shopping With over 3,500 shopping outlets, visitors can shop to their heart’s content for home accessories at the Egypt, Turkey and Al Sana’a pavilions, which will be selling a selection of collections and one-off pieces. The India pavilion is offering clay cooking pots that would make a wonderful addition to an Iftar table. These pots are known to retain the nutritive values of food cooked in them. Performances during the month Across the entire month, the park will host a variety of themed shows. The highlight will be a magnificent 30-piece arabesque Orchestra performing twice every night on the main stage. Other shows will feature a violin player and the light show kaleidoscope. The park’s new operating hours are 6pm-2am daily, to accommodate guests during Iftar and Suhoor timings. The leisure and shopping destination will welcome guests until April 29. “Hai Ramadan”, also commenced at Expo City Dubai on March 3. the event aims to bring the community together, as it hosts an engaging celebration of the holy month with food, festivities, and activities. In other news, the UAE announced official working hours for the holy month for both the public and private sectors.
