Restaurant shut in Dubai’s Blue Waters for flouting Covid-19 regulations

A restaurant in Dubai’s Blue Waters area has been shut down for failing to adhere to Covid-19 regulations, Dubai Economy announced on Sunday.

The restaurant was closed in cooperation with Dubai Tourism, mainly for not ensuring social distancing.

Dubai Economy also confirmed that during its daily inspections, one shop was fined for not applying enough social distancing stickers, and four shops in a mall were warned since employees were not wearing face masks.

Meanwhile 518 businesses were found to be compliant with the regulations.

Authorities in Dubai have been taking strict action against those who found violating precautionary measures after the UAE reported a sharp increase in Covid-19 cases.

On Saturday, Dubai Economy announced that a café in the Karama area has been closed for a month and fined, following the circulation of a video on social media platforms that showed its “lack of commitment” to the precautionary measures.

It also stressed that similar disciplinary measures will be enforced on violating outlets, with double the closure period and the value of the fine.

Another restaurant was also closed on Friday for failing to adhere to the precautionary measures.
