Home Technology Gadgets Review: Microsoft Lumia 640XL This is the first Microsoft smartphone that can upgrade to its new operating software, Windows 10 by Aarti Nagraj September 12, 2015 The Lumia 640 XL is the latest device from the Microsoft camp and the first smartphone that can upgrade to its new operating software, Windows 10 (hopefully available later this year in the UAE). Currently running on Windows Phone 8.1, it features the customary tiles, which can be wearisome if you are accustomed to Android or iOS. As the name suggests, the Dhs 799 device features a large 5.7 inch HD display. This pushes up the overall size and can make it a little unweildy. The phone has a fairly long-lasting 3000mAh battery and includes 1GB of memory and a 1.2GHz quadcore Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It comes with all the standard social and health apps. The 13MP rear camera is quick to focus and snap pictures. I could even clearly capture my playful cat in action. However, pictures are not great in low light. In terms of look and feel, the phone’s plastic casing is far from premium although it is hard to expect more for the price. That said, the device is solid and sturdy. To truly get the best from the phone, it might be worth waiting for the Windows 10 upgrade. 0 Comments
