RTA transports over 6 million commuters across Dubai during Eid Al Adha

According to Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the number of commuters who used public and shared transport means and taxis reached 6.396 million riders during the Eid Al Adha holiday, which extended from June 27-30.

This figure reflects a 14 per cent increase from the numbers recorded during the same period last year, which was 5.615 million riders.

The number of metro riders on both the Red and Green Lines during the holiday reached 2.388 million riders during the holiday break.

Other commuter highlights during Eid Al Adha

The tram served 104 thousand riders, while public buses transported 1.409 million commuters. During the Eid Al Adha break, marine transport ferried 260 thousand commuters while taxis were used by 1.973 million passengers.

Shared mobility means provided transit services to as many as 261,000 riders.

In recent news, the contract for a major road improvement project in Dubai was recently awarded by RTA.
