Home GCC UAE Saudi Crown Prince arrives in Abu Dhabi on two-day state visit UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan conferred the ‘Order of Zayed’ on Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud by Varun Godinho December 8, 2021 Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia, arrived in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday on a two-day official visit to the UAE. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, led a high-level entourage of top officials welcoming the Saudi Crown Prince at the capital’s Presidential Airport. During talks held at at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Sheikh Zayed reviewed their bilateral relations and opportunities to develop them. They also discussed regional and international developments of mutual interest, according to state-run news agency WAM. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Prince Mohammed bin Salman also discussed the importance of boosting joint GCC and Arab action, as well as regional and international issues of interest. Sheikh Mohamed also referred to the key role played by Saudi Arabia in regional and Arab security. “Saudi Arabia has been, and will always be a key regional player. We are confident that together, we will be able to confront all challenges in the region and to maintain our common interests and the welfare of our peoples,” said Sheikh Mohamed. Before visiting the UAE, the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz arrived in Oman on Monday as part of an official visit covering all the Gulf states. On the sidelines of the visit, Saudi Arabia and Oman signed 13 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) across different sectors, reportedly worth more than $10bn. His visit to these countries comes ahead of the GCC summit in Riyadh later this month.
