Abulkalaam Jamaleddeen was found guilty of breaking into the home of a woman, shooting and stabbing her to death after robbing her, the SPA cited an interior ministry statement as saying. He was also accused of attempting to murder another person whose house he broke into and for the attempted rape of another woman. According to the report, the accused also faced charges of stealing the arms and ammunition used in his crimes. Security authorities managed to arrest the culprit and the investigation resulted in the indictment of his crimes and his referral to the criminal court. Since the defendant’s actions were “prohibited” and the court ordered a death sentence by crucifixion, the report said. The ruling was upheld by the appeals court and the Supreme Court and a royal order was also issued to carry out the sentence. Saudi carries out a crucifixion by hanging a body in public after an execution. The interior ministry asserted that the kingdom would enforce strict punishment against those who violate the country’s laws.
