Saudi investments in Jordan amount to $14bn: Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry

The figures were cited in an economic report issued by the Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry during Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Jordan

The Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry has revealed that the volume of trade exchange between Saudi Arabia and Jordan amounted to about SAR16.6bn in 2021, compared to SAR11.6bn in 2020.

According to the official Saudi Press Agency, the volume of Saudi exports to the Jordanian market amounted to SAR11.6bn and Jordanian imports to the Saudi market amounted to SAR5bn. While the volume of Saudi investments in Jordan amounts to $14bn, across 900 projects.

This came in an economic report issued by the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce, on the occasion of the current visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Jordan.

Prince Mohammed held a meeting on June 21 with and King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, Minister of Defense of Jordan, as well as an expanded session of talks in the presence of the delegations’ members of the two countries, in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The bilateral meeting reviewed prospects for joint cooperation and opportunities in various fields between the two countries, in addition to discussing the latest regional and international developments and coordinating efforts in this regard.

Jordanian Minister of State for Media Affairs Faisal Al-Shboul welcomed the visit and said: “The Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to Jordan stresses the depth of solid relations between the two countries and the constant coordination on all issues of mutual interest, in addition to the depth of the political discourse between them at all strategic levels.”


He also highlighted the importance of the visit in terms of its timing and theme, where the visit is paid under critical regional circumstances and several challenges that make communication between the two leaderships inevitable. He also noted that the relations between the two kingdoms are historical and distinguished, calling for more action to unify the stances of the two countries towards joint issues.

Meanwhile, Prince Mohammed  arrived in Turkey on June 22 and will meet President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the last leg of a regional tour that also took him to Egypt.
