The media spokesperson at Riyadh Region’s Police, Major Khalid Al-Kreidis, stated that an investigation is now underway into the incident. According to officials, the perpetrator managed to steal the amount after threatening a bank employee that he would harm a customer with a gun. A follow-up by security officials led to identifying the perpetrator in a “short time” and arresting him. The weapon used in the crime was a “mock pistol”, the report stated. The alleged perpetrator is a Saudi resident of Filipino nationality in his 30s, it added. The man was arrested and all initial legal measures were taken against him. He has been referred to the Public Prosecution, the police spokesperson added.
