Saudi reports 472 new Covid-19 cases, 6 additional deaths

The total number of cases within the kingdom now stands at 4,934, which include 805 recoveries

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has confirmed the detection of 472 new Covid-19 cases, the country’s highest rise in daily infections since the outbreak.

Of the newly diagnosed cases, the highest were reported in Riyadh (118), Madinah (113) and Makkah (95).

The ministry also announced six additional fatalities on Monday, April 13, spiking the tally of coronavirus-induced deaths to 65.

 

The total number of cases within the kingdom now stands at 4,934, which include 805 recoveries.

The kingdom first imposed a curfew from March 23, running from 7pm to 6am for 21 days, to curb the spread of Covid-19.

On April 2, it imposed a 24-hour curfew in Makkah and Madinah. Last week, it also announced a 24-hour curfew in several cities across the kingdom to intensify its efforts to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

On April 12, in light of the coronavirus spread, the decision to extend the curfew until “further notice” was announced.

Oman
The Ministry of Health in Oman has registered 128 new Covid-19 cases, Times of Oman reported on April 13.

The total cases in the country have now reached 727 including 124 recoveries and four deaths.
