An official source at Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has confirmed that access to several establishments, modes of transport as well as events in the kingdom will be restricted to only those who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 starting 6am on October 10.

A double jab of the vaccine will be necessary to access the following services in Saudi:
– Boarding planes and any public transportation.
– Entering any economic, commercial, cultural, recreational, sports or tourism activity.
– Entering any cultural, scientific, social or recreational event.
– Entering any government or private establishment.

The official at the ministry added that the excluded categories in the Tawakkalna application will be excluded from the requirements of taking the vaccine.

The decision reported by the state-run Saudi Press Agency attributed the directive to have been based on the recommendations of local health, and information provided by national and international scientific authorities on the importance of receiving all doses of the vaccine to help reduce the chances of being infected with a variant strain.
