The reduction in Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) bills will cost the government over Dhs230m, official news agency WAM reported. The government is constantly monitoring the developments and undertaking measures to facilitate the public, the ruler of Sharjah and Supreme Council Member, Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi asserted. The move is in line with several precautionary measures undertaken by the UAE government to ease the financial burden of its people amid mounting concerns of the Covid-19 outbreak and its implications on businesses at large. The UAE boosted the size of its stimulus package to $34bn in an attempt to fend off the impact of the coronavirus.
