Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, announced a new organisational structure for the Dubai Municipality.

Under the new structure, Dubai Municipality will feature four new agencies, facilitate enhanced governance, privatise eight main activities and create Dhs10bn worth of new economic opportunities.

According to the Dubai Crown Prince,”The restructured civic body now has institutions for environment, facilities management, building licensing and waste management. With the enhanced efficiencies created by the new agencies, the team will develop exceptional new services for the people of Dubai.”

He further tweeted,”We have full confidence that the new sectors’ CEOs at Dubai Municipality will drive innovation and achieve Dubai’s ambitious goals. Our goal is to build new productive partnerships, enhance financial sustainability and develop services that raise the quality of life in Dubai.”

Sheikh Hamdan said the new organisational structure for Dubai Municipality, comes in implementation of the directive of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued during an earlier Dubai Council meeting.

The new organisational structure aims to maximise the economic, tourism, and commercial impact of the municipality’s public assets, by creating economic opportunities worth Dh10 billion, establishing a new phase of development, and providing innovative services.

In recent developments, Sheikh Hamdan announced the launch of the Dubai Metaverse Strategy on July 18. The strategy aims to make Dubai a global hub for the metaverse community and build on the emirate’s achievement of attracting more than 1,000 companies in the fields of blockchain and metaverse. It also promotes Dubai’s ambitions to support more than 40,000 virtual jobs by 2030.
