Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, visited the new Al Hudayriat Recreational Project on Wednesday and ordered it to be opened to the public within 30 days.

He also instructed the officials to accelerate the launch of leisure facilities across the emirate and to develop the the infrastructure in line with international standards, reported official news agency WAM.

The Crown Prince visited 10 leisure facilities on the island during his visit including the ‘Stars Gate’ which is a camping site; 321 Sports Village which includes sports playgrounds, jogging and cycling tracks; Challenge Village; and ‘Hudayriat Heritage Walk’ which extends along the waterfront and provides visitors with a cultural background of the island and the history of pearl diving in the UAE.

He also visited Marasana which represents the marina located in the heart of the project which includes several restaurants, an ice rink, and a kids waterpark too.

“Al Hudayriat project and other similar developments represent a qualitative addition that reinforces Abu Dhabi’s status on the global tourist map,” said Sheikh Mohamed.
