The announcement released by Dubai Media Office states, “The law stipulates that Dubai must possess its distinct emblem, one that mirrors its values and principles. It can be utilised across various government facilities, documents, websites, and during government events. Image credit: WAM For private entities to utilise it, they will need to obtain prior approval from the Dubai Ruler or his representative. Fine for misusing the Dubai emblem The improper use of the emblem will attract a heavy fine and possible imprisonment. The monetary fine could range from Dhs100,000 to Dhs500,000, or include imprisonment for a period not less than three months and not exceeding five years. The Chairman of Dubai’s Ruler Court will issue the necessary decisions to implement the provisions of the law and it will come into effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
