Home Industry Hospitality Sofitel Jeddah Opening In 2014 Luxury hotel on the Corniche will seek to draw in business and leisure travellers by Dominic Ellis September 16, 2013 Accor is bringing its luxury Sofitel brand to Jeddah, marking its third property in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The 189-room hotel, located in a high-rise tower on the Corniche, aims to open in 2014. Strong emphasis is to be placed on food and banqueting, with six food & beverage outlets and meeting facilities complemented by a large pre-function area. While business travellers will be the prime target market, the hotel will seek to draw in leisure business with its two pools, health club, spa, squash court, kids’ corner and cinema hall. The deal was signed by Al Tamiuz Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality business unit of a large and diversified Saudi company, owned and managed by the Al Harith family, and Sofitel Hotels. Currently the Kingdom’s solitary Sofitel is in Al Khobar, although a contract has been signed to open a flagship property in Riyadh in 2015. 0 Comments
