MENA Tech (MTE), a company owned by GGTech Entertainment has launched the Strike Arabia Championship, the first Valorant competition to unite competitors across the GCC, Iraq, Levant, Egypt and North Africa.

The Strike Arabia Championship is the result of a partnership between MTE and Riot Games, which involves tournament organisation and management, as well as content creation. The championship is a significant first step for Valorant in the region since it is the only event that has direct ties to larger international tournaments, allowing local teams to earn industry reputation outside of the region.

The MENA teams will compete for a place in the LAN grand final in September, with a $50,000 prize pool on the line. The winning team will be automatically placed into the European last-chance qualifications, which will take place in October.

The start of MTE activity in MENA is also accompanied by the appointment of Mario Pérez Guerreira as CEO for the region. In his new position, Mr. Pérez Guerreira will deal with the relationship with the different publishers, hiring the team responsible for the activity in the region, attracting brands / sponsorships, managing events and launching professional and amateur tournaments in the region.
