Home Covid-19 Students with chronic medical conditions can return to private schools in Abu Dhabi Last month, ADEK announced that all private school students in Abu Dhabi will have the option to return to in-classroom education for the new academic term by Zainab Mansoor December 16, 2020 The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has confirmed that private and charter school students with chronic medical conditions now have the option to return to in-classroom education for the following term, starting January 2021. The decision came in the aftermath of ADEK’s coordination with health authorities in the capital emirate to ensure a safe return to school for all students. The emirate’s education regulator informed private and charter schools that students with chronic conditions can attend physical school as long as they present a letter from their doctor stating that they are medically fit to attend, as well as a parent consent form acknowledging the potential health risks to their child. Last month, ADEK announced that all private school students in Abu Dhabi will have the option to return to in-classroom education for the new academic term, starting January 3, 2021.
