The metal piece of the probe is decorated with the phrase ‘The power of hope shortens the distance between earth and sky’, the UAE flag and the slogan ‘The impossible is possible’
The probe is expected to enter the red planet’s orbit on Tuesday, February 9, 2021
Along with the Hope Probe, the UAE’s space ambitions and its endeavours towards a knowledge-based economy have also taken flight
The Hope probe will now lift-off on July 20, 2020, at 1.58am UAE local time
The launch is contingent upon improved weather conditions
A new launch date will be announced in the next 24 hours
The delay is due to the weather conditions at the launch site of Tanegashima Island in Japan
The probe is anticipated to enter Mars’ orbit in February 2021
The Hope probe’s mission to Mars will start in mid-July 2020 from the Tanegashima Space Center, and is expected to reach the Red Planet’s orbit in the first quarter of 2021
