MW Energy, a joint venture between Masdar and W Solar Investment, has signed an agreement with Tajikistan’s Ministry of Energy and Water Resources to explore the development of the projects
The sixth phase of the project, set to be operational in stages starting from Q4 2024, will power over half a million residences while reducing carbon emissions by 2.36 million tonnes annually
Proceeds from the bond offerings will be deployed towards projects in the renewables sector, namely solar, wind, renewable power transmission and distribution infrastructure, and battery storage assets
The companies will look at developing technical solutions to decarbonise or improve the energy efficiency of upstream oil and gas assets among other initiatives
Dr Sultan Al Jaber, Masdar chairman and COP28 President-Designate, has been meeting global leaders to build consensus toward solutions that can deliver an equitable energy transition
The alliance aims to establish national cooperation in decarbonisation efforts, develop frameworks for carbon financing and increase knowledge of the carbon market
The agreement marks a collaboration between the two companies focusing on sustainable aviation fuels, green hydrogen and direct air capture technologies
