The kingdom’s ministries, state departments and public institutions will be closed on September 27
The Cabinet declared September 28 as a holiday for those serving in the public sector
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced a public paid holiday on the occasion of Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha
The RTA has also revealed revised timings for public transport
The holiday has been ‘carried over’ to Thursday, giving federal employees a long weekend
The Metro will operate throughout Thursday and Friday
However, with January 1 falling on a Friday, workers in the country will not get an additional day off
Public and private sector workers in the country will have the same number of national holidays
The birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad is expected to fall on October 29
Last month, the UAE announced that public and private sector workers will have a holiday to mark the occasion
FAHR has added a holiday to mark Mawlid Al Nabi – the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday
Workers are set to receive a four-day weekend
Authorities have yet to announce whether workers will receive a day off to mark the occasion
