Headquartered in Delhi, the carrier will take delivery of its first plane, an Airbus A320-200, in September and plans to increase its fleet to 20 aircraft, including A320neos, by the end of the fifth year of operation. Prasad Menon, chairman, Tata SIA Airlines Limited (TSAL), was confident the airline will “redefine the way we travel in India”. Phee Teik Yeoh, CEO, TSAL, said it aims to deliver personalised services for business and leisure passengers at every stage of their travel experience. Singapore Airlines continues to spread its wings commercially, operating SilkAir on regional routes, and low-cost Scoot, and it has an equity stake in another low-cost airline, Tiger Airways. Swee Wah Mak, director, TSAL, and EVP Commercial, SIA, said: “From a global investor’s perspective the Indian aviation sector has a lot of potential for growth and I am delighted that SIA now has a fruitful role to play here.” 0 Comments
