Home Awards The Countdown Begins For The First Gulf Business Awards Tonight’s awards will celebrate the UAE’s top performing business leaders and companies. by Aarti Nagraj September 24, 2012 The countdown has begun for the first-ever Gulf Business Industry Awards, the GCC’s benchmark for recognising and triumphing local business achievement. As the region’s largest and longest-standing monthly business publication, Gulf Business is proud to lend its wealth of experience to an evening of celebrating the UAE’s most distinguished leaders and companies. The awards, to be held on Monday evening in the Godolphin ballroom at Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai, UAE, will reveal the winners in 24 different categories covering nine industries: Banking Real Estate Aviation Retail Media and Marketing Energy Tourism Education IT& Technology Under each of these categories, two awards – ‘Company of the Year’ and ‘Business Leader of the Year’ – will be presented to the winners. Along with these industries, the Gulf Business Industry Awards will also announce the winners of four individual categories: Innovator of the Year Entrepreneur of the Year Businesswoman of the Year Special CSR Award Gulf Business is also proud to present its inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award, the most special award this evening, which will be presented to an individual who has been instrumental in shaping the UAE’s growth and whose vision and leadership has guided the country to success. And to round off an evening of corporate celebration, Gulf Business will present the coveted, overall Business Leader of the Year award. The awards were judged by an independent panel consisting of industry leaders and specialist experts along with the Gulf Business editorial team. The full judging panel comprises: Ian Fairservice, managing partner and group editor of Motivate Publishing; Alicia Buller, editor of Gulf Business; Ibrahim Al Ansari, CEO of Dubai First; Peter Cooper, editor of the ArabianMoney.net; Husam Hourani, managing partner at Al Tamimi and Y.S. Shashidhar, managing director of Frost & Sullivan MENA. The sponsors for the Gulf Business Industry Awards include Marina Home Interiors, Alpari, Drake and Skull and Nikon.
