Home Industry Hospitality The Wynn Al Marjan Island resort in the UAE will open by 2027 The 1,500 key property will be located in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah by Gulf Business May 5, 2023 Wynn Resorts has confirmed that its first hotel scheduled to open in the Middle East will be called Wynn Al Marjan Island. Set to welcome its first guests in 2027, the resort which will be located in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE is also Wynn’s first-ever beachfront resort. Wynn is developing the property which will rise 305m off the ground in collaboration with Marjan and RAK Hospitality Holding. Foundation construction work already began at the site earlier this year. Wynn, a US-listed developer and luxury resort operator, said that the estimated cost of this project is approximately US$3.9 billion. The resort will feature approximately 1,500 keys which will be a mix of rooms, suites and villas. Significantly, it will also have a gaming area, 24 dining and lounge experiences, a high-end shopping esplanade, an advanced events center and even a theatre capable of hosting a large production show. (Image: Supplied by Wynn Resorts) Wynn noted that the design of Wynn Al Marjan Island takes its inspiration from the natural landscape surrounding the resort, with “the same geometric configuration of the curved shape of the beach on the island, echoed through the podium structure, similar to a great opera house, creating majestic views of the beach, sea and the horizon.” Al Marjan Island, upon which the new resort is being built, has over 7.8km beachfront and 23km of waterfront spaces.
