From traditional Emirati favourites to exotic delights, the iftars and suhours in Dubai are as diverse as the city itself. 1. Layali Ramdan Tent at Kempinski, Palm Jumeirah Iftar: Sunset to 9pm Price: Dhs 185 per person Suhour: 10pm to 3am Price: Dhs 95 Layali tent in Kempinski, Palm Jumeirah provides guests an opportunity to relax amidst lush fountains in an air-conditioned tent. The hotel has a rotating menu for both its iftars and suhours, mainly consisting of traditional Arabic dishes and delicacies. Kids up to 5 years can eat free of charge with an accompanied adult. Children aged 6-12 get 50 per cent discount on the regular price. The tent also has an Arabic tabla and oud player to entertain guests from iftar till midnight. 2. Asateer Tent at Atlantis Iftar: Sunset to 8.30pm Price: Dhs 195 per person Suhour: 9.30pm to 2.30am Price: Dhs 175 minimum spend Featuring glittering lights and oriental entertainment, Asateer serves a variety of buffet dishes and traditional delicacies. The hotel is also offering a number of online group deals for its suhour spread. 3. Majlis al Safinah, Jumeirah Beach Hotel Iftar: Sunset to 8.45pm Price: Dhs 195 per person Suhour: 9.30pm to 3am Price: A la carte Situated within the Safinah Ballroom, the venue consists of eight elaborate Majlis areas with seating options from 10 to 20 guests. The doors to the iftar open 15 minutes before the meal is served. A minimum spend of Dhs 100 is needed for Thursday and Friday during suhour, while there is no minimum spend needed for Saturday to Wednesday. 4. JW Marriot Marquis Iftar: Sunset to 9.30pm Price: Dhs 195 per person Suhour: 9pm to 3am on Price: A la carte Kitchen6 at JW Marriot Marquis is offering an international iftar where six live cooking stations – including Asian woks – cater to those craving for cuisines from all corners of the world. An iftar is also served at the Dubai Ballroom followed by a suhour spread. 5. Ramadan Tent at Downtown Dubai Iftar: Sunset to 9pm Suhour: Sunset to 2am Hosted by Emaar Properties, this Ramadan tent will offer both traditional and contemporary cuisines. The tent will be catered by The Address Hotels and Resort and will offer guests a chance to enjoy their iftar meal with views of Dubai’s tallest tower Burj Khalifa. 6. Anise at Intercontinental, Dubai Festival City Iftar: Sunset to 10pm Price: Dhs 215 per person (inclusive of beverages), Dhs 105 for children Suhour: 9pm to 2am on weekdays, extends till 3am on weekends Price: A la carte With eight live cooking stations modeled on the eight points of the star anise, the restaurant offers an extensive international buffet along with a spread of traditional Arabic fare and live entertainment. Suhour will be held at a Skyline Tent beside the Dubai Creek with a live table and an oud player to entertain guests. 7. Sky Bubble, The Meydan Hotel Iftar: Sunset to 9pm Price: Dhs 170 per person Suhour: 9.30pm to 2am Price: A la carte The Meydan Hotel is hosting its ‘Ramadan in the Sky’ iftar at the Sky Bubble during the holy month. Guests can enjoy panoramic views of Dubai’s skyline and a selection of traditional Middle Eastern delicacies including hot and cold mezzeh, grilled meats and customised dishes at live cooking stations. Suhour can be enjoyed at the air-conditioned Ramadan tent featuring à la carte dining selection, shisha and oud music. 8. Sofitel Dubai Downtown Iftar: From 8.30pm to 11.30pm Price: Dhs 185 per person An iftar buffet will be served at Les Cuisines which will have a mix of cooked seafood, a traditional Arabic mezze and a live ouzi station featuring the favourite lamb ouzi. The family-style served iftar will also be on offer and will be changing every week to offer guests an array of starters, mains and desserts. The hotel also offers an in-room Ramadan menu if guests would like to enjoy suhour in the privacy of their rooms. 9. Al Maeda at Doubletree Hilton, Dubai Iftar: 7pm to 9pm Price: Dhs 139 per person Suhour: 9.30pm to 1.30am on weekdays/9.30pm to 2.30am on weekends Price: Dhs 89/Dhs 69 Al-Maeda’s iftar buffet offers a wide selection of signature dishes from the Levant and North-African region, chilled juices, Arabic sweets and shisha. Sohour menu includes a premium platter costing Dhs 89 while the standard platter is priced at Dhs 69. Alternatively guests can pick from an a la carte menu. 10. Hatta Restaurant in Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers Iftar: Sunset to 8.30pm Price: Dhs 139 per person Suhour: Sunset to 4am Price: A la carte If you are looking for an iftar in old Dubai, Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers is a good pick. Set beside Dubai Creek, the hotel’s Hatta restaurant offers an iftar buffet with options including a special traditional Arabic charcoal-grilled meat selection, including shish taouk, shawarma, kofta and mix-grilled meats in various marinades, along with a range of Arabic sweets and Ramadan juices.
